The monthly consumer loan payment is calculated using the annuity method. However, to understand the true cost of a loan, looking only at the interest rate is not enough — the FIFD (actual annual interest rate) indicator is more important. FIFD takes into account all commissions, insurance and additional payments and shows the real annual cost of the loan. According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan regulations, banks must disclose FIFD to the customer. This calculator compares conditions of 8 major banks to help you find the most advantageous option.

  • Law on Consumer Rights Protection
  • Central Bank regulations — FIFD disclosure requirement
  • Law on Banks — lending conditions
  • Central Bank Board Decision — consumer loans

What is FIFD and how does it differ from the interest rate?

FIFD (actual annual interest rate) is an indicator that takes into account all loan costs: interest, commissions, insurance. The nominal rate shows only interest, while FIFD reflects the real annual cost of the loan. Always look at FIFD when comparing banks.

What documents are needed for a consumer loan?

Typically an ID card, income certificate (salary certificate) and other documents required by the bank. Some banks may require additional collateral or a guarantor.

Is it possible to get a loan without a credit history?

Yes, some banks issue loans to customers without a credit history, but the interest rate may be higher. A good credit history allows you to get a lower rate.

Is early repayment possible?

Yes. According to Azerbaijan's legislation, the consumer has the right to repay the loan early at any time. However, some banks may charge a fee for early repayment.

What is the maximum loan amount?

It depends on the bank. In Azerbaijan, consumer loans are usually issued from 500 to 100,000 AZN. The amount depends on income level and credit history.
