The labour pension in Azerbaijan consists of three parts: base pension part, insurance part and accumulative part. The base pension part is a fixed amount set by the state. The insurance part depends on insurance contributions paid by the employee to DSMF throughout their working life. The accumulative part is formed from funds accumulated in an individual pension account. In 2026, the retirement age is 65 for men and 60 for women. The minimum pension amount is guaranteed by the state.

What is the retirement age?
In 2026, the retirement age is 65 for men and 60 for women. Early retirement rights exist for some professions (hazardous conditions, special sectors).
What is the minimum pension amount?
The minimum pension amount is set annually by the state. In 2026, the minimum pension is 350 AZN. Persons with little insurance experience receive the minimum pension.
What is the minimum work experience for pension?
A minimum of 15 years of insurance experience is required to earn the right to a labour pension. Those without this experience can receive a social pension.
What is pension indexation?
Pension indexation is the increase of pension amounts in connection with inflation and other economic indicators. Pensions in Azerbaijan are regularly indexed.
Can Azerbaijanis living abroad receive a pension?
Yes. Persons with insurance experience in Azerbaijan have the right to a pension even while living abroad. To do this, contact DSMF.
